UDA Echo Featured in Constructech Magazine's CT Today

May 6, 2010

Constructech Magazine, the leading authority in construction technology, featured UDA Technologies in a recent CT Today, Constructech's weekly Residential and Commercial newsletter that reaches hundreds of thousands readers each week. Referencing the newly released integrated backup device, UDA Echo, CT Today gave readers a way to defend their data from disaster.

An excerpt from the article:

Natural disasters, hardware or software failures, and external security breaches strike fast and furious, too often ending in the loss of data critical to business operations. It seems most disasters don't even have the common courtesy of waiting until its victim is ready to defend itself before attacking. However, there are a number of proactive measures builders can take now to protect themselves in the event of something, well, disastrous.

So how can builders protect their data from being lost? The options, which range greatly in terms of capital investment and thoroughness, include: creating an offsite data center, renting space in a hosted data center, backing-up to virtual servers, implementing manual backup practices using cloud-based or hardware-based systems, and/or investing in a third-party software client.

One industry-specific option recently released by UDA Technologies, www.uniteddesign.com, Auburn, Ala., involves a durable little device designed to provide portable data backup for ConstructionSuite - a project-management software solution for small to medium-sized construction firms. UDA's Echo is made of aluminum alloy and contains no internal moving parts. The company says Echo is light enough to be carried in a wallet.

"For professionals that rely on ConstructionSuite to run and manage their business, UDA Echo is a critical tool," said Michael Stevens, President of UDA Technologies, "With Echo you can automatically backup ConstructionSuite and all of your project data, estimates, change orders, documents, schedules, and more."

UDA's Echo is available in two sizes, 8 GB and 16 GB, with prices starting at $99.99. For more information, click here.

Designed for builders, contractors, and AEC professionals across the construction industry, UDA products are available in over twenty different versions for residential, commercial, and green building projects. Applications combine UDA Estimating, UDA Scheduling, UDA QuickBooks Integration, UDA Contracts, UDA Specifications, ConstructionNet CRM, and ConstructionOnline web services.
