UDA ConstructionSuite 2009 Integrates with Chief Architect

September 3, 2008

UDA Technologies announces integration of UDA ConstructionSuite 2009, with Chief Architect, the award-winning architectural design software. Available in Premier versions and above of ConstructionSuite, the new integration automates the process of turning materials lists and take-offs into comprehensive estimates in UDA Estimating.

Daniel Hayden, Co-project Manager for ConstructionSuite 2009, believes the new functionality will enhance users' experiences. "Our customers will be able to save time and reduce costly errors and omissions during the take-off and estimating phase."

UDA ConstructionSuiteIn the bidding process, performing hand take-offs from plans takes valuable time and can be error prone. But with the CAD Integration, users of ConstructionSuite and Chief Architect will be able to dramatically reduce time spent doing take-offs.

"As always, our commitment is to lower the cost of construction by saving our clients time, and integration with Chief Architect offers additional tools that our clients can harness to accomplish that goal."

In today's competitive market, construction professionals are realizing the value of implementing technology in their businesses, but the growing number of tasks that need to be automated has led some businesses to leverage too many programs that aren't compatible.

According to Hayden, the key to using technology effectively is to utilize systems that can share data and integrate key processes. "Compatibility with Chief Architect adds to the value ConstructionSuite can deliver for our clients."

"We're enabling users to adopt best-of-class systems for each of the major phases in construction - Chief Architect for design, ConstructionSuite for project management, and QuickBooks for accounting," said Hayden. "Now users can go from design to paying subs and suppliers without having to double- or triple-enter their numbers."

From the CAD documents in Chief Architect, users can create a bill of materials and then easily import it into the ConstructionSuite system for a detailed breakdown of quantities, units, and costs. Then, users can take advantage of professional-grade project management that integrates Estimates, Schedules, Contracts, and more before taking advantage of UDA QuickBooks Integration to create a chart of accounts, invoices, purchase orders, and budgets.

And, with the addition of the breakthrough technology of ConstructionNet CRM in the ConstructionSuite system, users can now leverage a dual contact and project management database to create connections across all of their files.

"This new integration with Chief Architect strengthens our position as a leader in construction technology," said Hayden. "No other software system on the market today offers the depth of features and integrations available in the ConstructionSuite system."
